I began my journey into the world of Carnatic music at the young age of six, starting with Carnatic vocal music. My passion for rhythm and percussion soon led me to the mridangam, an instrument that I have studied and practiced for over a decade.

My Journey

Mirudangam

Training

My initial training was under under the tutelage of his first Guru Shri. Prakash Rao, where I learned the foundational skills and techniques. After a few years, I transitioned to studying with a renowned guru Swarasadhana Ratna Gurushikhamani Sruthilaya Sudhakara Guru Shri T. S. Nandakumar, under whose guidance I spent six years advancing my skills and deepening my understanding of this intricate art form.

Blessing

Guru's Blessings

With my guru’s blessings, I have had the honor of playing as an accompanist for performances conducted by various local music teachers in New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to perform vocal music at numerous events, further enriching my musical experience. A highlight of my journey was accompanying my guru in the Talavadya ensemble performance at the prestigious Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana festival, a testament to the progress and dedication I have put into my craft.

Goal

Milestone

This year marks a significant milestone as I ascend the big performance stage for mridangam, ready to share my music with a wider audience. My journey in Carnatic music has been one of continuous learning and growth, and I look forward to many more years of exploration and performance.
